(Continual Translation):
KL: Otto, you haven't changed, what an old rouge you are - Yennifa seems to be quite taken - literally, she told me all about your 'speciality'....
OSVB: Kat. Enough for now, this is official - there is a full board meeting tomorrow - whats the report from Monte-Cristo?
KL: Spoilt-sport...very well "Herr Now-Person", hmpf:
The ship from Galatan has arrived and Hermann is taking care of it.
I have raised the first squadron of Light-Horse volunteers, uniforms and training all arranged. I have rigoursly tested the riding skills of each and every man and can personally attest to their manhood, they are very, very robust - with amazing endurance and skill, both individually and in prolonged group sessions - some have been nothing less than utterly incredible in the saddle and I can tell you, the regimental Colonel is magnificent.....
OSVB: I get the picture Kat, spare me the gory details - what of the Ordo?
KL: Well I was getting to that....totally expunged from Monte-Cristo. Definitely confirmed overt operatives in Galatan - we think it's the 13th again.
OSVB: Yennifa told me how you met - that was pure fortune - we have an opening. We have an operation involving many elements - Herr Eye is ready to announce it. Go and hang around somewhere - the board meets at the moonrise.....
KL: Ah Otto - this is fun, I hate being bored, can I go to Langdouc too?
OSVB: We'll see what the Herr Eye says Kat...we will ALL see my dear....

Given the peculiar mores of Monte-Cristo, not only the official secularity / anticlericalism & quasi-official atheism but chiefly because of the (in)famous costume of the young &/or fair Monte-Cristans [the "trikini" (A straw hat or headscarf, and a pair of shoes): on soft ground, easily gives way to the "monokini" (the hat); actually, Monte-Cristan women are not fond of hats -remembering that, according to Paul, Corinthians I, "women have to cover their hair as a mark of their fundamental inferiority to men": a mere flower is their favorite headgear. Thus, except in the brightest, hottest sun they generally turn to the Monte-Cristan "bikini" (the shoes...); or, more often than not, to the "zerokini"].... even the Ordo with the best self-control were unable not to betray themselves at a moment or another. The Ordo tried to use 'professionals', but could not but enlist devout ones -they would not trust people of uncertain faith- the result was the same.
ReplyDeleteNow that the presence of the MC infantry battalion in the Herrschaden establishment is officially confirmed and the raising of the MC cavalry unit quasi-official (openly referred to by the Direktorix, indirectly announced to Rupert...) when is the creation of the Legion to be officially proclamed, its glamorous flags presented to the public?
Will the MC volunteers crew the galloper guns section to be attached to the LC brigade? And then, if the Legion thus acquires an artillery component, will the infantry be supported by battalion guns? While MC weapons R&D branch have some reservations about rockets, the basic MC volunteer will crew any new weapon system with the joyful enthusiasm of a child discovering a new toy under the XMas tree...
The Direktorix was most taken with the Monte-Criston zerokini - in fact the inadvertant meeting of the Direktorix and Princess Yennifa took place whilst both were so attired (press release pics to follow...). The most impressive element of the Direktoix's sojourn in the Presipality, was of course her novel experience of "sun-bathing" - utterly impossible until going to Monte-Cristo and testing the superb local product, which categorically prevents her (and anyone else for that matter) from burning-up in sunlight, you cant be too careful nowadays of course.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, Hermann Geldverstecht, the Herrschaden 'man-in-Monte-Cristo', has just organized a massed shipment of this magnificent product, to be transported by Direktorat convoy shipping in the very, very near future. Herrschadener specialist troops will be more than able to serve in the off-times sun-blistering climates to the south...
...OIIIIIIIO
Of course the Monte-Criston individual and independent volunteers battalion and Light-Cavalry regiment have not yet been formed as a provisional mixed all-arms brigade or legion at this time. As the Direktorix is still most vigoursly testing every man in the regiment, most especially the essential attributes of the Colonel - we anticipate another moon of time for the formation to be completed. In addition, the Direktorats EYEs R US parade, will reveal the military flags as carried by the various units and Direktor escorts......
